Hey there, Pretty Blossoms! Q&A time!
What’s the difference between oracle cards and tarot cards?
As you know, I have an online Holistic Tarot Workshop coming up (the next one begins January 18th), so I want to clarify this question that has been asked a few times this week…
Both Oracle Cards and The Tarot are amazing tools for introspection and person growth, but they do have some large differences.
To put it quite simply, anyone can open an oracle deck, and use it without prior knowledge. Just pull a card, crack open the book for a short message of positive encouragement, simple guidance, or a suggestion to a question, and it is pretty straight forward. The study of the Tarot, and how to use it holistically for personal growth and spiritual development is a life long study. The deck (unlike an oracle deck) is very structured, and each card represents an important element of the human experience and condition.
The Tarot depicts and entire story, known as “The Hero’s Journey”, which shows all of the stages of life from conception and birth, through conflict and personal suffering, to successes and spiritual awakening, all the way to death, and rebirth. I view the story that the Tarot conveys to be very similar to the Story of Jesus’s life, from birth, to suffering, to spiritual awakening, to crucifixion, to resurrection. There are many ways to connect with the story found within The Tarot, and you will connect to it in your own way. The messages that can be taken can be simple but are more often very deep, layered, and call for personal introspection.
By using either The Tarot or Oracle Cards, you are giving yourself an amazing and creative opportunity to have a rich daily inner dialog with your Spirit. Developing a spiritual practice, and exploring personal development is an inevitable result when using either type of card. ☺️
With Oracle Cards, you will most commonly use one card or three cards for a self “reading” or guidance with a question. With holistic Tarot, you could pull anywhere from 1 card up to 18+, giving you a large amount of information to consider. Holistic Tarot takes practice and dedication, but is a very rewarding inner journey! If you are intimidated by Holistic Tarot, an Oracle Deck is a fun and simple place to start! 😁🌿🌸
If you are interested in learning Holistic Tarot, I do my best tp present it in a simple and streght forward way, giving you a strong foundation with room to grow. See my “Free Online Workshops” link to join my next group!
