NOW, it’s time to start chatting about how to begin working as a Blossom Healer and online business owner! 🙂…
Things you will need to do:
1.) Decide WHO you are going to HELP, and HOW! 🙂 *This is your niche market.
Knowing your niche is SUPER Important, because if you go out there and try to appeal to everyone, and be everything for people who are interested in holistic healing and alternative options, you are going to get lost in the crowed, and people will not as easily find you when they are specifically looking for help with a specific thing, which may be the exact thing that YOU could help them with! The thing that YOU are great at and most passionate and knowledgeable about, is the specialty you should be embracing, and the inner genius that you allow to shine through!
I know that finding a niche, or deciding on a “specialty” FEELS like you are going to be limiting yourself, but TRUST ME… the more specialized you are, the MORE SUCCESSFUL you and your Holistic Healing Business will be!
So, my dear… Please take a bit to think about the things that you REALLY LOVE, and the type of people you would really LOVE to work WITH, and write these things down in your business planner or a notebook. This list will help you recognize and decide on your niche market!
Some additional brainstorming questions that you can ask yourself, that will help you discover your niche:
- WHO you are going to help, their age range, personality and their common interest
- WHAT your goal is for you and your niche market
- WHAT you are going to specialize in! 🙂
- You do not have to be an expert, you just have to be passionate about the specialization(s) that you choose! We are all lifetime students of our practices!
- How you are going to reach, teach and interact with your niche market.
To give you an example, here are my personal answers to these questions:
- I am going to help HAPPY, CARING AND SPIRTIT CENTERED women, via the internet, generally between the ages of 20-60, who want to LEARN about self-healing, and how they can create their own sacred businesses from home! 🙂 Yay!
- It is my goal to produce well rounded, educated, and GROUNDED self-healers, practitioners and business leaders, within the field of the Holistic Arts, specializing in the healing modalities that I personally resonate with most!
- I specialize in teaching Crystal Healing, Holistic Tarot, and how to have a successful business, online!
- I will be working 100% online, via my blog and social media.
Note *** If you are just beginning your journey in Holistic Healing, you may not know your specialty yet, and that is OK! Just keep this post in mind as you go through your online courses, and return to this course when you are ready to begin your business, as a Blossom Healer!
OK, so now that you know your NICHE, it is important to appeal to your niche, and we do that through our business NAME and through how we LOOK (aka. our “business branding”).
So, additional homework for the week is to come up with your BUSNIESS NAME! This cold be just YOUR name, or it can be a name for a business that doesn’t include your personal name, like what I have chosen, “Where Juniper Grows”, for example.
I don’t see either type of name (your actual name or a business name) being better than the other, UNLESS you plan on being an Author. If you are going to publish a book, or an oracle deck at some point, you may want to begin branding YOUR NAME as your business name.
Make sure that your name is short and sweet, and make sure that it is something that people will be able to easily remember.
Cute ways of spelling things like adding a “z” to the end of the word “girlz” may be something that is trendy, but when in comes to word of mouth, and people trying to find you, it can be confusing. For example, someone may say to someone else, “hey, you need to check out the website, healthy girlz .com”, but when their friend goes home to look up the website, they may not know that the business owner decided to brand the word “girls” in with a “z” instead of an “s”, so, It is best to keep your spelling simple as well. 🙂
I see a lot of people being help up in their business, because they get “stuck” on trying to come up with the perfect business name and look. Please don’t let this hold you back. Spend no more than a few days brainstorming, and then decide on the name that YOU LOVE MOST, choose a couple of nice main colors that you like (for example, I use a lot of olive greens and soft pinks in my business, because I personally like them) and move on. If it helps, create a word web and find a color swatch that you like from www.design-seeds.com, but again, don’t spend too much time on this step, since it will hold you back from moving forward. 🙂
Additionally, your social media handles should all match the business name that you choose, so that your branding is consistent over all websites and platforms.
A business named “The Pretty Crystal”, should have a website domain name of www.theprettycrystal.com, and an Instagram handle of @theprettycrystal , etc.
It is important to make sure that the name that you want is also available, before you begin to put your web pages together. A simple way to do this is to go to www.hostgartor.com and plug in the business name/handle you would like, click search, and see if it is available as a .com. 🙂
